Hurry Up Hustlers: three Week 5 picks
Record: 4-2. Both totals have hit, the spreads are 2-2. Same rules as always.
1. Giants +3.5 at Commanders
Confidence: solid.
- A 3-1 team getting more than a field goal from a 1-3 team. That doesn't happen often, and when it does, the record usually knows something the line doesn't.
- Washington's on its third-string quarterback. The number's priced like the Commanders' starter is healthy.
- Caveat: the Giants' offense has been inconsistent. If they score 12 again, this loses.
2. Under 42.5, Bengals at Dolphins
Confidence: hammer.
Miami's scoring, four games: Week 1 10 pts, Week 2 13 pts, Week 3 13 pts, Week 4 10 pts
- Miami has scored 46 points in four games. My Under on them last week hit by 13.5.
- Cincinnati ran for 23 yards against Jacksonville and scored 17. Neither offense has given me a reason to expect points.
- I'll keep betting against the Miami offense until it scores 20.
3. Saints +2.5 vs Vikings
Confidence: lean.
- Minnesota is 4-0 and didn't score a touchdown in two of its last three. That's not a 4-0 team, that's a kicker.
- New Orleans gave up 45 on Monday, but the offense put up 320 yards and 24 points. At home, getting points, against a team I don't trust.
