Every NFL quarterback, S through F: Jalen Hurts is an F and I'll explain why

All 32 starters, tiered and ranked inside the tiers. Numbers are through three weeks. If you want to fight about it, good.

S Tier

  • 1. Josh Allen. Six rushing touchdowns already. He turned it over three times against the Chargers and still won, which is the most Josh Allen sentence I can write.
  • 2. Brock Purdy. Nine touchdowns, one pick, 72.3 percent. Against Arizona he went 8 of 10 for 180 on quick throws, 18 yards an attempt, the best mark anybody has put up in the tracking era.
  • 3. Patrick Mahomes. 812 yards, took a shot to the back in Miami, stayed in, won by two scores.

A Tier

  • 4. Dak Prescott. Seven touchdowns, one pick, and nobody is talking about it because the Cowboys defense is a crime scene.
  • 5. Jared Goff. Eight touchdowns, zero interceptions. Zero.
  • 6. Joe Burrow. 70.9 percent and six scores, and he got strip-sacked with the game on the line in Pittsburgh.
  • 7. Lamar Jackson. 9.8 yards an attempt, and he looked like himself again once Zay Flowers came back.
  • 8. Trevor Lawrence. Seven touchdowns in three weeks and he hung 35 on New England.

B Tier

  • 9. Matthew Stafford. 872 yards, most in the league, and four interceptions. The whole man in one line.
  • 10. Kirk Cousins. Three touchdown passes in all three games at 38 years old, which ties the longest streak of his career. Keep laughing.
  • 11. Tyler Shough. Eight touchdowns through three games. Also three turnovers in the last 13 minutes against Vegas, which is why he is not higher.
  • 12. Sam Darnold. Came back and threw for 379 with four scores. And two picks.
  • 13. Aaron Rodgers. Best game he has played since Green Bay, two deep touchdowns in the first quarter after going 0 for 9 on deep balls the first two weeks.
  • 14. Deshaun Watson. Two straight games where he made the throw that won it. I did not expect to type this.
  • 15. Bo Nix. Down 16-0 and he brought them back. Also three picks and three fumbles.

C Tier

  • 16. Daniel Jones. Three turnovers against Houston and Indy won anyway.
  • 17. Michael Penix Jr.. One start, 10.2 yards an attempt, and Bijan Robinson does the rest.
  • 18. Jacoby Brissett. Threw it 52 times out of necessity in San Francisco.
  • 19. Case Keenum. Beat the Eagles on Monday night. That is the whole resume and it is enough.
  • 20. Marcus Mariota. Four touchdowns in two starts and he beat Seattle.
  • 21. Baker Mayfield. Thumb is dislocated, out at least three weeks, and he was uncomfortable before that.
  • 22. Geno Smith. 75.5 percent with zero picks and three fumbles, and his team is 1-2. I watch the Jets, so I get to say this.
  • 23. C.J. Stroud. Three touchdowns in three games on an 0-3 team.
  • 24. Bryce Young. 939 yards, then Cleveland shut him down completely.

D Tier

  • 25. Justin Herbert. Four picks, three on deep balls, which is more deep picks than he threw in all of 2024 or all of 2025.
  • 26. Drake Maye. One touchdown, six interceptions, after finishing as an MVP finalist last season.
  • 27. Kyler Murray. 52.9 percent in two games back, and he lost Justin Jefferson in the first one.
  • 28. Cam Ward. Two touchdowns in three games, with receivers dropping catchable balls.
  • 29. Malik Willis. One touchdown, and his best running back tore an ACL.
  • 30. Jameis Winston. Zero touchdowns. Fifty-one percent.

F Tier

  • 31. Jalen Hurts. Here is the one you came for. Monday night in Chicago he averaged 6.1 yards an attempt and threw six passes past 10 yards all game. The Eagles are 2-1 in spite of him, and if that changes I will say so here.
  • 32. Jordan Love. 52.4 percent completions, worst among starters, four fumbles, and 28 of 53 in a home blowout where Green Bay ran the ball nine times. Green Bay is 1-7 since Micah Parsons went down.
