Week 3 report card: the Eagles lost to Case Keenum
Week 3 broke a lot of what we thought we knew. Philadelphia lost to a backup quarterback, New England's defense got run off the field, and Atlanta scored 35 in Lambeau seven days after managing a field goal.
Biggest wins (margin): Jaguars over Patriots 29 pts, Falcons over Packers 21 pts, Bears over Eagles 20 pts, Chiefs over Dolphins 14 pts, Raiders over Saints 8 pts, Bills over Chargers 8 pts
Closest finishes: Ravens over Cowboys 3 pts, Steelers over Bengals 3 pts, Browns over Panthers 3 pts, Colts over Texans 2 pts, Commanders over Seahawks 2 pts
35-6. New England had allowed 16 points in two weeks and gave up 35 in one afternoon. Jacksonville looks like the AFC South favorite.
Three points last week, 35 in Lambeau this week. Atlanta ran for three touchdowns and Green Bay ran the ball nine times all night.
With Case Keenum starting. Three Philadelphia turnovers, zero second-half points, and a 27-7 final on Monday night.
Won it from 56 yards as time expired after Dallas tied it with 10 seconds left. Derrick Henry ran for two scores.
Down 16-0 at half, won 30-26. A 66-yard pick-six and two two-point conversions, then a Bo Nix sneak with 48 seconds left.
35-27 on the road and 3-0. Nobody saw this team starting like this.
24-10, and Kansas City is 3-0 without looking dominant once. Miami has now scored 10, 13 and 13.
36-30 in a shootout they should have controlled, but 3-0 is 3-0.
33-31 over a 2-0 team. Washington's first win, and it came against the league's stingiest defense.
30-27 in a division game Cincinnati led. Pittsburgh's offense finally showed up.
23-16 and 3-0. Tampa is 0-3 and hasn't looked competitive since Week 1.
31-24. Detroit's offense keeps humming, the defense keeps giving points back.
24-16 and 3-0. Los Angeles is 0-3 after being a popular pick.
21-18, and neither offense wanted it. Cleveland's 2-1 anyway.
12-7 with no touchdowns until late. Tennessee is 0-3 and still searching.
19-17. Indy's first win, Houston's 0-3 and the offense is broken.
Honor roll
- Jaguars: 35-6 over a defense nobody had solved yet, and they're 2-1 with the look of a real team
- Atlanta's run game: three touchdowns in Lambeau and 242 team rushing yards
- Raiders and Vikings: both 3-0, and neither was supposed to be
Summer school
- Texans, Chargers, Dolphins, Buccaneers, Titans: all 0-3, and only Houston has a real excuse
- Rams: up 16-0, outgained Denver by 225 yards, lost anyway
- Eagles: three turnovers and seven points against a Bears team starting Case Keenum
